Sweet. I think the Grove needs a nice steak house. My only worry is location. Ginger Grove is hidden and off the main street. Most people don't even know it's there and walk right by it. Now if we could only get Fuddruckers back in the grove and get rid of The Knife, I'd be a happy man.
I miss Fuddruckers. After they closed the Grove we then went for the burgers at the Sailing Club but when the chef left last year she seems to have taken the burger recipe with her, as the ones we had after that were kind of dry. Johnny Rocket burgers are ok but it's like eating out on the street.
Maybe some kind of burger place could go where Qdoba's was.
Another good idea would be to get Felipe Valls to open a Versailles or Carreta outpost with real Cuban coffee window, midnight sandwiches to go and ultra cheap breakfast. The Grove could actually use a good place to get cuban coffee-- not the $3.00 Espresso, and double Latte kind of place, but good cheap Cuban coffee in those little thimble cups.
One would think that you can get a good Cuban coffee anywhere in this town but its not the case in the Grove. I agree, a Cuban place would be very nice. Bring on the coladas!
no man no one can make cuban coffee in Grove, not the one place,
It's not the Grove, but it's close...
Houston's has the BEST burgers, hands down!
There is always a line outside of Houston's in the Gables. It's a chain, but it is reliable... reliably good!
Would have been a much better choice than "reliably bad" Chili's.
Ick.
