New bar closing time is 3 am
As of today, tonight actually, the bars close at 3 am, not 5 am. So start drinking early to get it all in.

anon at 10:06 - while some might feel that it doesn't do much to address the underlying problem, they are ignoring the underlying economics. What it does is prevent the Grove from becoming a Night Club District - thank goodness.
Yay! 3 am is just about right, though 2 am would be better. Now I just wish that smoking would be banned and that a gay bar would open up in the grove.
The Grove is a very accepting place. Why would you need a "gay" bar? Can you imagine if someone opened a "straight" bar? I think that all bars in the Grove are pretty straight and gay at the same time. Let's not get heterophobic in this day and age.

take moe's for example, will the doors close at 3, or will it stay open till 5 but only serve food after 3?
Re gay bar - I don't think the poster meant it as a separatist statement, rather a diverse one, just as there are biker bars, jazz bars, upscale bars, piano bars, neighborhood bars, wine bars, sports bars, sailor bars, and even old geezer bars, so there are gay bars in the mix. In fact in this category, there are also many sub-categories. The idea being that anyone would go to any of them, but at the end of the day, sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name..."
Where is the sailor bar? I think that would be a great addition to the Grove, or maybe it exists and I don't know about it....
Bars are allowed to stay open until 5am if the kitchen is open. All night clubs, dinner clubs, and hotel bars must shut down at 3 now.
