For rent

Looks like the movie people moved out of 2982 Grand Avenue. They were using the place as a wardrobe holding area for all the movies they have been filming in town recently.

It's a great location between FedEx/Kinko's and the Shaq 24 Hour Fitness gym. If it doesn't rent out, I see the costume store taking it over for Halloween. They usually are in that area each year in one of the empty storefronts.

what do you think would work there?
i actually think something like drug store like would be good. I like the cvs but its one hell of a walk and its sketchy at night. It would be nice in this day and age with gas the way it is to be able to walk to grab some basic like a bottle of advil or some toothpaste.

also,
I cannot tell you the number of tourist who are staying in the grove who ask if there is a drug store nearby.

what would you guys put there?

Love that idea. I know tourists get lost looking for CVS and Fresh Market. A sundry store like that would be a gold mine. I think the whole Grove would use it to run in and out for drinks, the newspaper, candy, etc.

the drug store next to subway isn't half bad, they re did the inside a year or so ago and it turned out pretty decent. i think a barber shop would be good, not an overpriced salon, but a real barbershop, with beer and tv and stuff.

I think a small drug store/convenience store would also be a good solution but believe that such a place would be overpriced due to the probable rent. Maybe I am wrong, who knows?

Have you ever seen the characters that hang out at that Food Spot?

The parking around there sucks; we gotta get rid of those cab stands at the Mayfair; we don't need them there and they take up 2 parking spaces and then other cabbies pull up and they chat and bottleneck the street.

How about a sweet BAGEL SHOP. The closest gold mine is Coral Bagels. Kind of like a Murrays Bagels alittle taste of New York. Does anyone agree????? Another thought. A Chinese restaurant, with take out and delivery. Lastly a Kosher Deli like Bens with delivery.

I would definitely patronize a NY style deli with smaller portions and decent pricing

AT SOME POINT WALGREENS WAS INTERESTED IN THE SPACE AND ACTUALLY INQUIRED ABOUT LEASING SPACES IN THE PARKING LOT YH OWNS NEXT TO QDOBA..

SINCE CVS AND WALGREENS ARE IN SUCH A RACE TO POP STORES EVERYWHERE ONE OR THE OTHER WOULD DO -- YOU ARE RIGHT, I GET A LOT OF TOURIST ASKING FOR THE NEAREST DRUGSTORE, AND WE ARE URBAN ENOUGH TO QUALIFY FOR 2 WITHN A 6 OR 8 BLOCK DISTANCE. -- LILI
