what a monstrosity. That thing should be pulled from the water and burned. its clearly there illegally. Also there is a bunch of junk over there including a boat which is often tied to the walkway and slams into it during high tide. Frankly the city (owner of dinner key)should be fined by the state for continuing to turn a blind eye to this stuff.
I get down right giddy when i see fish and wildlife officers nailing people coming onto the boat ramp who lack recreational fishing licenses (which seems like everyone). It is sickening that we put so many restrictions on commercial fisherman when thousands of drunk retards catch anything with or without a fin during any season and of any size with little consequence.
This is not Dinner Key, it's in my backyard in the north Grove. It's gone now.
ohhh, it looked like that area just south of the CG sailing club. Either way you cannot just float out there on that thing. if the marine officers see him he will get a ticket.
PS,
how much you wanna bet he doesn't have a recreational license either?
And can you get a DUI for riding a barge drunk?
If he actually floated from Cuba he would be now on his exclusive fast track to US citizenship and a sweetheart job and a roof over his head, unlike the Haitians and others who float over.
Jeez, you would think the Grove of all places would welcome a little Huck Finn pluckiness, but from the comments here it looks like it has devolved into a bunch of prissy School Marms. No wonder the McMansions have taken over.
cheers "wet foot" - I'm with you
and me! The guy looks much happier than all the owners of fancy boats combined. Perhaps its because he's in the water enjoying himself and he doesn't have to worry about his expenses not to mention ego? Move over sweetie, I'll sit on the other lounge chair any time!
give me a break. O look how great it is, he is bucking the system. If he can do, we all can right?. Wow wouldnt that be wonderful. a sea of crappy run down barges. Yippie!
why do you have to come down hard on Cubans at once thinking he is Cuban and making fun of him.
I am glad I am not Cuban, we would have different conversation.
Anon above - get over it. Grape was kidding around and no one was "coming down hard" on anyone. Time to take your sensitivity pills...
I think you guys are getting carried away a bit.
This was simply a cool photo of a peculiar happening - and where else better than the Grove for peculiarity?
I trust some of you above that object to the raggedy appearance of the boat are surely not wanting a Design Review Board to tell us what's good enough to float in or not.
Please, chill.
so now cubans get "sweetheart" jobs? evidence - please.
Roger L.
Why is it that the Grapevine is so anti-Cuban? I am Cuban I find it very disrespectful...I guess I'll have to complain to you directly next time I see you at Focaccia.
How is this anti-Cuban?
Yes, please explain how this is anti-Cuban? I would love to know in detail. And please sign your name. Thanks.
