Problems around the Grove
"I don’t know who William Billy Rolle is or was, but he can’t be all that honored to have our Coconut Grove Post Office named after him. The information both is still a construction zone."
"The parking lot still looks like a landfill after removing 10 perfectly good 50 year old oak trees (and they did not even have to pull a permit from the City of Miami or even bother to discuss this travesty with our Village Council or BIC)."
"Beauty salon on Commodore Plaza trash bins on Grand are leaking foul liquids."
"Sandbar Grill trash bin on Grand is open and fowl liquids are leaking."
"Possible illegal signs are posted on a fence near US1 and Plaza."
"Discarded tire is also located in lot near signs."

along with the foul odor in the garbage bin area, i bet you'll find lots of rats at night. a picture of that, would speak volumes.
Good work... email them to our mayor and his entourage
On a positive note the mound of dirt on the post office parking lot is looking like a new tropical mountain with interesting vegetation growing on it. It may become volcanic one day.
I have seen beautiful Post Offices in New England towns. They build to suit the area of their locations. This building looks like a copy of the post office at Ft. dixs, NJ!! The ever so slow PO employees hate there working conditions, and we all hate the building time for a change team.
William "Billy" Rolle, Jr., is a former defensive back for the FAMU Rattlers. Rolle is currently the head football coach of the #1 ranked high school football team in the United States, the Miami Northwestern Senior High School Bulls. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in education at FAMU in 1984. While at the university, he volunteered to teach FAMU High students the strategies of football...
not sure if it is the same guy or not. Got that info from this website: http://meacswacsports.blogspot.com/2007/12/at-cross-roads-great-coaches-find-way.html
Harry found out that Billy Rolle was a Big Band Conductor of the black band in white tuxedos that use to perform at the old Gingerman in the old Mayfair back in the Good Old Days of the Grove.
I still can't believe the parking lot by the post office. What a horrible sight. Is it true a new parking garage is going up there?
I agree with everyone that the post office is a disgrace, but doesn't Gottlieb have better things to do than go around at 7 am taking pictures of closed businesses??
I think that is very true. What does Harry have to do with his life that leaves him doing this at some insane hour?? We should be told.
I get up early to workout at Paradise Gym on US1.
Trying to slow down the ageing process a bit.
Trying to postpone those knee, hip and back surgeries.
I happen to see these code violations when I drive by and can’t believe that they are continuing to take place in our community.
I can’t help but want to see the Grove be a better place for all of us that live, work and visit here.
So I figure these code violations need to be reported and acted upon.
Letters to our elected leaders and Net Office are useful but a photo does an even better job.
We can all thank those folks that respond to these code violations and help to get them resolved.
Some of those folks include Haydee Wheeler, Mariano Loret de Mola, Marc Sarnoff, and Peter Ehrlich.
Let’s also thank the Coconut Grove Grapevine for spreading the word and the many concerned citizens that care about our Grove and post comments.
Harry Emilio Gottlieb
Thanks Harry, hip,hip for you and hopefully no operations.
Keep the camera handy.
Re. The information both is still a construction zone.
Please note that the Info. Kiosk which is located on Grand Avenue and East of SW 32nd Ave is not under construction. This project was completed in time for President’s Day weekend which was also the start of the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. The City of Miami pilot project conceptualized by Commissioner Marc Sarnoff is being staffed by security officers from Kent Security Services, Thursday through Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to midnight.
The construction at this site is related to the up-lighting project which is underway from SW 37th Avenue to Matilda Street. The project has been designed with all underground electrical wiring and on Friday, they were working on this particular site. This morning, they are already repairing the sidewalk. We do apologize for the inconvenience.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.
