"No Thru Trucks"
The following locations will have the signs installed: Bird Avenue at Center Street, Mary Street, Virginia Street, and Matilda Street to face southbound traffic; SW 27 Avenue at Shipping Avenue, Day Avenue, and Tigertail Avenue to face westbound traffic; SW 32 Avenue at Shipping Avenue, Day Avenue, and Oak Avenue to face eastbound traffic; Grand Avenue at Matilda Street, Virginia Street, and Mary Street to face northbound traffic.
It is anticipated that the proposed signage will keep the truck traffic on the arterial roadways in order to reach their commercial destinations in this area. This work will be accomplished within the next six weeks.

Isn't a "thru truck" simply a truck that has no origin or destination in the neighborhood? I guess this is supposed to help with traffic? I think that the signs will be ignored - probably not something that's easily enforced anyway.
Unfortunately these signs won't help with the *blocked* roads problem. The road is usually blocked because the truck is delivering something locally, and then wouldn't be classified as a 'thru truck'.
Great, another sign on Virginia. Drive on Virginia sometime and notice how many signs there are between Bird and Day. I think there are at least 10, with about 5 or 6 being right at the dog park/Sarnoff circle.
We have had sign up on Bridgeport for over a month, but it only works if the streets are mointored. We have trucks using the street as a cut-through all the time.
I wish signs worked, but it still takes citizens calling the right phone numbers to enforce the signs.
Best of luck,
Bill
Why don't we just do nothing to improve the Grove and maybe all you naysayers will be happy! We seems to have a contigent of people who do nothing but complain when something is done. Delivery trucks should be entering the business district from the main streets and not coming thru the neighborhoods picking up speed from one stop sign to the next forcing us to listen to their air brakes.
