Grovey-wood
This big trailer you see on Grand Avenue today, is being used as a wardrobe changing room for the new Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson movie, "Marley and Me", filming around the Grove. It's right across from the Bookstore. If I see Jennifer or Owen around, I'll blog them here.
I went by the Grove's "movie studio" (the Expo Center). They just completed filming parts of Renée Zellweger and Harry Connick's new movie "Chilled in Miami and are getting ready for the return of Burn Notice. You can see sets being built here today. Below are all the trailers used for dressing rooms, lighting and such.
When I have time, I'll go back to the Burn Notice set and take some more photos. Apparently they know the Grapevine and they let me in when I showed them my credentials.

Robert Parente of City Film Commission deserves huge props for all of this. He's an unsung hero for the biz he brings in.
I am delighted that Grape is getting credentials and getting some credit for this blog and for what it does for our community.
Good going.

Bringing these films here is great for Coconut Grove. We should all work to save the Expo Center.
Credentials? Whoa, I am fully impressed with the Grapevine. I was wondering how you got into that movie set. I was certain that you just nonchalantly walked on in as if you belonged there. As for the nuns on roller skates, I was at Dinner Key on that day to see the filming, as well. It was in '79 for "Hot Stuff" with Dom DeLuise. Funny, that you should bring that up. I was twenty years old at the time.
I have an assignment for you Grape, since you have street cred and all. Have you every talked to the shrimpers on dinner key? They are usually getting ready to go out around 4pm. They are pretty interesting individuals and are a unique aspect of the grove. One guy told me he has been shrimping from their for almost 20 years. They also usually have some good gossip on the filming in expo. I used to chat almost everyday with them, but I have been busy as of late.
