The Grove's Sue McConnell to be honored
The City will pay homage to the women who have been at the forefront of the struggle for equality and those who have created educational and professional opportunities for future generations. Honoree Adrienne Arsht will receive the Julia Tuttle award, the highest award given to an individual for making a difference in our community. Other honorees will be recognized as well.
Sue seems to do everything for the Grove. She tries to help with every event, does a lot of the leg work and never really gets the recognition she deserves. Her info and Grove postings help me a lot with this blog, and I really enjoy her witty personality. She was just recently elected President of the Village of Center Grove as well. Congratulations, Sue!

This honor for Sue is long over do.
Sue’s commitment, caring and passion for Coconut Grove have helped make our community a better place for all of us to live, work and visit.
We have all benefited.
Her efforts with CODE 33, the fight to limit Home Depot, planting more trees, filling more pot holes and encouraging all of us to do more for our Grove deserves a standing ovation.
Her efforts and achievements are much appreciated by those that know her and by many that have not had the pleasure.
Thank you for all of your hard work and especially for correcting many of my typos.
Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Harry Emilio Gottlieb
Congratulations to Sue - you're doing a great job for all of us!
Thank you Sue for keeping us abreast of everything Grovey. Congratulations on the award!
I have always said what the Grove needs is more Sue McConnells. When I first came to the Grove and wanted to get involved, I asked around and her name kept coming up, so if you want to be involved get in touch with her. She will have you volunteering and attending events as much as you want.

Love Sue. She deserves this and it's a long time coming.
We refer to her as Miss 33133 and I recently saw her around town wearing a t-shirt that had 33133 on it. Thanks for all the hard work Sue.
Jack
I gave her that shirt. You can purchase that and others like it at the 33133 store. See the yellow ad above right.
Exactly what did Sue do "at the forefront of the struggle for equality" and exactly what did she do to "create educational and professional opportunities for future generations.?"
Just Wondering...
Don't be jealous anonymous. Sue is an excellent person who deserves the honor.
Sarnoff is giving his last remaining supporter an award for well, "being his last remaining supporter." To pretend that this has anything to do with being
"at the forefront of the struggle for equality" or "creating educational and professional opportunities for future generations" is just an insult to anyone with half a brain. The Status of Women Recognition committee has been given notice of this misuse of its name and is planning on taking action
You're right; the struggle for equality continues as idiots like you are allowed equal space on this blog! What have you done for your community lately besides put your fingers to a keyboard?
