New Grove billboard
Here's the new billboard on US1 and 27th Ave. Pretty mural below, ugly billboard above. I have to laugh at these billboards because it's on the border of the Grove and if anyone tried to put a large billboard like this in the center of the Grove, all hell would break loose. We do have that one ugly one at McDonald Street and Grand Avenue, but other than that, I think the Grove is billboard free except for a few small ones hear and there and maybe one large one on US1 near Douglas Road.I think Old Grover has the best idea here. This billboard says it all.Photo by Harry Emilio Gottlieb (and morphed by Old Grover)

I think you are being way too harsh. That's a great billboard!
For what it's worth, Old Grover thinks it's a great billboard as well. That said, one can always poke a little fun.
Consider this...how often do billboards provoke conversation. The fact that this one does speaks volumes about its effectiveness.
They should do us all a favor and stop with the billboards already. Didn't Marc Sarnoff start some sort of law that gets rid of the ugly things?
Promoting the area is a good thing. But, did I hear someone say that there is a proposal to eliminate billboards? That would be the best environmental law I've ever seen. The entire state of Hawaii has no billboards. We should be like them.
I'd rather see them eliminate ugly ass buildings like the fishing store under the billboard, which has no redeeming architectural values
We should distinguish all the entrances to Coconut Grove like they do in Coral Gables.
Let’s invite guests into our community with a welcoming entrance made up of coral, Coconut Palms and/or art work.
Each entrance into the Grove through Bayshore DR, 17 Ave, 22 Ave, 27 Ave, 37 Ave, Bird Road, Le June and Old Cutler RD should be distinctive and inviting.
There should be no billboards at our front door no matter how clever they may appear to some.
