Focaccia Rustica revisited

I took the suggestion of many of you and revisited Focaccia Rustica (3111 Grand Avenue) today. I used to eat lunch there and stopped, not sure why, probably just wanted to try something different, I even blogged about it at the time.

I ordered the curry chicken salad, as per someone's suggestion. Ironically in the last blog post about them, I raved about the curry chicken salad sub (say that three times fast). I loved the cappuccino.
I had one there and ordered one to go.

I forgot how quaint and nice the place is -- very clean and inviting. I'll be back again, maybe for breakfast next time.

I love that place too. Just make sure you don't park at the parking lot next to it or that granola bar/old hippie next door at The Last Carrot wil have your car towed in two seconds flat. I guess she's jeaolous b/c everyone seems to prefer eating at a "clean and inviting" place instead of hers lately.

I actually did park next door and I asked the waiter if it was OK and he told me yes.

If you think that it is nice for lunch (I usually have the churrasco salad) you should go there at dinner. Not only it is nice, or shall I say...Romantic, but the food is really the best in town. I had the Lamb with Rosemary and husband had the Pumpkin Ravioli and they were both delicious. We also had a bottle of wine for a very reasonable price. To me they are the closest to homemade as possible. 10+++++

Now this is the sort of thing where you provide a first-rate service to local businesses...personal testimonials of friendly service and good values. Nice pictures, too.
Good work, Grape.

...and they do Code 33 on everything, including wine and bottles of wine - most restaurants take l0% off food only. They also deliver. The owners really try to please.

They are SO nice there. I think there is no better way to start the day than a latte and croissant at the corner window table.

The parking for the stores from the Dry Cleaner to this restaurant is in the back off of Matlida. The parking for Subway to the Food Spot or whatever its called now, is off of Grand. This way you don't have to insult people when you part in the spot that are reserved for their customers. Ironically, all these buildings and all these parking spots are owned by the owners of the dry cleaner, but if someone parks off Matilida, they better be shopping at the matching stores or they have been towed. Park in the corresponding parking, and I think that will decrease the territorial attitude.

It's pretty decent for breakfast. My only complaint, and it is peevish, is that, because all the surfaces are hard, it is really really noisy.

Some fabrics along the walls, or even on the roof, would mitigate the noise considerably. Since the tables are small and so near each other, the place is not conductive to conversation.

Is that Monty's personal table? He was sitting there last time I was in.

I believe that he believes that that is his personal table. But then again, everywhere he goes he thinks that he's still the king. Maybe it is about time he realizes that this is 2008 and Miami is not a swamp anylonger!
