ING Miami Marathon brings out the crowds
Lots of people also were out early to cheer on the runners.
There was every type runner, and rider in the race. A center lane was open for bikes.
I'm not sure if the Hindu students were an encouragement or a distraction, but everyone enjoyed them. The marathon after party
is at CocoWalk today, starting at 5:30 pm.

It was a great day for a race, thats for sure. I like that the Grove has such an event, but I really wish that some of the "cheerleaders" would consider residents in the neighborhoods in which the race is run through. There was some woman who was screaming her brains out at 830-9am that woke me up and I didnt appreciate it. Yeah, yeah, its one day a year and I should suck it up, I know. But clapping and cheering is one thing and this woman took it to a whole other level that I found to be inconsiderate.
Lace up your shoes and run after her
I was so bummed to find out they moved the race out of the Grove neighborhoods. Watching all shapes, ages, and sizes go by my home was really inspiring - it turned me on to running.
Ironically, it was the runners who complained about the course going through the neighborhood. Just when marathoners need the crowds the most (mile 19-23 a.k.a. "the wall"), very few people would go out to cheer. So they shifted it to the Key, where at least the view could distract the runners.
