New bookstore is the place to be

I stopped inside the new Bookstore in the Grove this weekend (3399 Grand Avenue). There was quite a nice crowd -- there were people at the snack bar and many people comfortably working on their laptops. Most were shopping for books and Christmas presents.

It's really a very inviting place and there seems to be a little nook and cranny for anyone trying to find something. The kids were really enjoying the children's department. A man on a guitar was playing nice, relaxing music.

Even if you aren't in the mood for a book, the snack bar is a great alternative to Starbucks, the pastries are delicious.

They had a lot of holiday books right at the entrance. I think the bookstore is really going to be a very welcome neighbor. Let's all do some holiday shopping there as a way of welcoming them to town. It's the perfect season for shopping and book giving.

We should all support the new bookstore. We all need to read and if the bookstore fails it might be turned into another ground floor office space. Or maybe a tattoo place...

I really like it and will continue to go there not just out of "local civic responsibility." It's really is a pleasant place and the coffee tastes good. I find a lot of places skimp on quality beans so I can't bring myself to pay for their coffee. I was happy to taste a good cup.

Remember, you can't buy the kids toys made in China this year so a book would be a great alternative.
