Making the Grove more ugly

Main Highway traffic is all backed up today because DOT is installing some sort of traffic lights.

At Main and Commodore Plaza and near Fuller Street they are either installing actual traffic lights or school cross walk signals.

Not needed. Waste of money. It just makes the Village ugly. As you enter from Cefalo's, the big silver bars just take away from the Grove village ambiance.

I saw that ugly, useless thing as well. What is the point? Well the government has to show it is working to justify the ridiculous taxes on our homes and wages. Also probably someone's cousin got the light post as a Christmas present. Based on the Commissioner's vote couple of weeks ago we are going to pay for a $1billion hole in ground to connect the already connected downtown to the port (by the way that is going to cost more than a million dollars per yard) Go figure.

Nothing's more annoying than a school zone without flashing lights. I'm glad they finally put this up.

Would you have rathered a more expensive "decorative" traffic light to gripe about? Perhaps this will offset the complaints of crazy Miami drivers not following school zone speeds, and maybe it'll even stand up to some hurricane winds as it was designed to do (since that's such a sore issue in Miami).

Signs & flashing lights do not slow Miami residents, cops do. Put a cop in that corner during school and everyone is under 10mph. Then again its cheaper to put the ugly poles than get police in the Grove.

You know what's really ugly? The funeral of a child that got hit by a car. Ask anyone at Morningside Elementary.

The child was killed where there were traffic lights, crossing guards and the like, putting ugly structures up does not stop speeding cars. Police on the scene might help during school hours.

I travel along 32nd avenue between US-1 and Coral Way all the time, driving past the Boys and Girls club and that school there. Those blinking lights make me slow down when they are on. If there is a school, there ought to be lights, it is worth it. Kids are dumb. They will run out into the street. Lets suck it up, and deal with this offensive pole to make it a little safer for them.

Is it really such a offense to "grove village ambiance"? What, is this light going to obscure your view of a couple trees? Oh no!!! I mean honestly, do you sit around staring at the trees in that intersection? Come on.
