New crime watch program being considered

The local police are very concerned by the recent increase in the number of nearby vacant properties (abandoned by foreclosures and mortgage fraud). This is an open invitation for criminals.

A local crime watch program is being considered in the area surrounding Merry Christmas Park to be bordered by Barbarossa, Braganza, and Woodridge Avenues (including Ann Court and
Matheson Ave).

To talk about setting something up, there is a meeting tentatively scheduled for 7 pm on Dec 6 at the Glass House
(2820 McFarlane Road).

One of the biggest benefits will be local crime watch signs which the city will then provide. Apparently these signs are one of the biggest deterrents for criminal activity.

This is just a heads up to save the date and time. There will be an official flyer in the next couple of weeks sent to residents of the area.
