Fresh Bitch at the Fresh Market
I don't think I have ever seen a smile on her face, at Milam's or the Fresh Market. She's a miserable person and in the past I have avoided the store for weeks on end because of her. She is crude, rude and has no business dealing with the public.
Today I went early to avoid the large lunchtime crowds but still, this bitch was in a mood. She was the only person working with customers at the deli counter, so I was stuck with her. In the past, I have thrown my number away just to avoid her and I would start from scratch with a new number, but today I couldn't and I had to put up with her mocking attitude and sarcasm.
After her being rude to me for a few minutes, I finally threw the salmon at her and told her to shove it and I walked out of the store, not before telling the store manager that until she is gone I won't be back. The funny thing is that all the great other employees know what a bitch she is and they are all embarrassed for her. She just doesn't get it.
After I left, I went to the new Whole Foods in Coral Gables/South Miami and was treated there as if they wanted me there.
When being overcharged for food at these so called "gourmet markets" I think the staff should have enough class to mock the customers behind their backs, not to their faces. We maybe deserve to be mocked for paying outrageous prices for the same stuff you can get anywhere else. But do it behind my back like everyone else.
What I was prepared to spend today was probably her whole salary for the week. This bitch needs to understand that and see every customer that way. She needs to get out of her lifetime bad mood and fast.

I'd be careful about throwing stuff at people. She could press charges for assault and battery.
Wow, thats pretty funny. I dont know the woman youre talking about though. Is she at the prepared food station or the meat/fish stations? I have to say that your comment about your "buying power" was a little out of line and most likely typed out of anger. Perhaps getting ripped off at Whole Foods is better than getting ripped off at FM?
Not sure what you mean by "buying power", all I meant was that two bags of groceries there is probably the same as her salary, since it's so expensive there.
And I threw the salmon at the counter, not at her.
What kind of attitude and sarcastic comments does she make?
The "buying power" comment was very arrogant and ignorant, not everyone makes alot of money & besides alot of the people that shop there, probably you, are very rude and snobbish, but I guess that is what Miami is all about, fake and rude people
The buying power was a put down of the store's high prices not her salary. And I was not rude. Since you don't know me and obviously don't know her, how about you reserve judgement until you meet us both? One look in they eye from her and you'll cringe. Trust me on this.
Anyone that wants to meet at the store and me show you what's up. Let me know. We can take a field trip and I'll point her out.
Maybe we can get her opinion of the incident of today. But then again she probably cannot afford a computer, since she does not make enough money according to some people.
I worked in the restuarant business for ten years, so I know all about rude customers. I am not saying you are one of those rude customers. I'm saying it does nto matter whether you are or not. Anyone in retail, or resturants knows that they have to deal with rude people, so she should be happy to get a customer who is not. The point, though, is that if she hates her job she should quit. That's what I did, once I got sick of people and I hated my job-- I just found a new one and quit; otherwise, suck it up and stop being such a bitch. You did good in letting the manager know.
it did sound a bit like "let them eat cake" from the millionaire to the peasant...she must have a lot of resentment working at such a low wage job. imagine how hard it is to staff those positions with well qualified people!
i teach in a public high school so i know about bad attitudes. in fact i've many seen students working at grocery stores after graduation...i doubt they became happy campers.
i can't imagine what anyone would say to me to make me throw salmon down. we are dying of curiosity. tell us what she said!
Oh, and one more thing: you asked "Fresh Bitch? How much is that a pound?" Well let me tell you, it can be VERY expensive! Time was, a man could settle in for the night and know exactly what it would cost. Some men didn't mind eating the same bitch every night, even when it had gone "past it's prime". But now, you can work your whole life and lose it all if you eat the wrong bitch. It just doesn't pay to eat bitch any more.
You can always say you didn't really throw the salmon; you just opened your hand and it tried to swim upstream...
I was in that store almost daily, of all the people who work there, she is the only nasty one. Everyone else is so nice and friendly and they bend over backwards for you.
I wasn't trying to sound elitist, I was just trying to say, they aren't giving away any bargains there and she doesn't need to treat people as if she is doing them favors. We are paying for service not be talked down to like we are stupid.
She was rude and nasty in Milam's and she is the same here.
I have worked in stores and have been in her position. I never made the customers feel uncomfortable, she does that every day.
Since you guys really don't know who I mean, please stop judging me.
I know the woman you mean. She's a piece of work. I don't recall actually dealing with her at Milam's, but I did see her the one time I was in Fresh Market. I remember shuddering and thinking that I was glad she wasn't at Milam's anymore.
I shop at Milam's because they carry a few products that I like. Fresh Market doesn't carry them. My other dietary needs (gluten-free) require visits to Whole Foods anyhoo.
Man... you dug yourself deep on this one!
GIRL FIGHT!!!!!!!
{sorry, i just couldn't resist}
Hey, its your blog. Say whatever you want. No judgment from me. In fact, I'm waiting for "non-judgment day". And to the guy that keeps getting the wrong bitch, maybe you should try Whole Foods too.
Thanks for providing one of the best "Comment" reads on a blog in a long time. Loved it and "Right on, babe!" Don't take rude behavior from anyone but never ever toss the salmon.
i know the woman you speak of - from Milams as well as FM. She's actually nicer at FM than she was at Milams and I believe paid a bit better there (all Milam's defectors can attest to that). Maybe she just doesn't like you. I was there the other day with a co-worker who wanted something that wasn't in the case and the lady you speak of said she'd go in the back and find it for her - and she did! So maybe it's not aall about her, after all.
the guy that made all the comments about "bitch" is ridiculous, maybe it's your piece that did not work, maybe its all old, small. From all classy women.
I have had the same problem with her. I have reported her to the manager, too.
She is an obnoxious person who has no business working with the public. I have never seen her say or do a nice thing for anyone. I avoid her at the store, too.
Ever see how she zooms around the store with her cart of items? She doesn't care who is in her path, she almost ran over my child once as she exited the storage room in back. Horrible woman. :(
Grapevine doesn't come across as petty or a nut, so not sure why people are so worked up over this and against him.
He isn't the type to post nonsense here and if this happened to him, I am sure it is how he explains it.
Talk about a bunch of judgmental readers who probably don't even know the woman Grape refers to. Everyone is so ready to defend the woman and they don't even know who the bitch is.
How about sticking up for your loyal blogger Grape who is here every day for you rain or shine?
I know who she is, she has mental problems. Don't mess with her, she'll go off on you if you just look at her the wrong way.
Everyone in Miami realizes that Miami has a problem getting employees to provide great customer service. Either the waiters are drunk and hung over or the clerks do not speak English or the employees just act bored or resentful. Miami has a problem. I think it helps us all for customers to take the time to tell managers or owners about their problem employees.
