Bird Bath burglarized
The Bird Bath Coin Laundry (2829 Bird Ave.) was burglarized Wednesday morning. The whole thing was caught on the surveillance cameras and will be shown on Channel 10 news tonight at 11 pm and most likely their morning and day newscasts tomorrow (Friday).
The police have no other leads and this video tape may help catch the thieves if someone recognizes the them.
Two other businesses were broken into earlier in the week as well -- these in the downtown area. It's a shame that all these crooks get away. If anyone knows anything please call the Crime Stoppers tip line at: 305-471-TIPS

Not on topic but I am a former Grovite who visited recently after being away for four years. I just found this blog and I think it's great. But I am very troubled by something. Everything was closed and shut down. There are so few businesses, even going across US 1 on 27th. This can't all be because the real estate crash can it? It is so sad.
A neighbor in my condo complex had someone break into their place at 5am and attempts to steal a laptop. They awoke and the person ran. It was reported that there was a lookout accomplice as well.
We also had an intruder in our condo. He was walking up and down the stairwell and trying doors. He opened one, a lady screamed and he took off. Where are the cops?
I piddy the fool who tries to enter my apartment while im home. For the 6 plus years ive owned my 65 lbs pointer she never get mad, growl, or anything until i moved to the grove and was accosted by some bum one night. He was yelling at me and I was honstly scared he was going to assult me. Then i hear this faint growling and i look down to my dog. She must have sensed my fear because her teeth came out she slowly walked toward the bum(who immediatly shut the hell up by the way). she stopped a few feet in front of me (while growling)and the guy took off running. Lucky for him she was on a leash or I think she may have gone after him. I can only imagine someone entering my condo while im home. Hope they can run fast.
I hope all these incidents are being reported - it helps the police to establish a pattern for these break-ins - and they need the reports for crime stats -- oh well maybe we should forget about that - don't the police change the stats anyway so it looks like we have less crime?
