Happy July 4th!
And then the First Annual Coconut Grove 4th of July Celebration in Peacock Park (2820 McFarlane Road) is on from 4 to 10 pm.
Admission is free. There is a special performance by "First October" and of course fireworks after dark. Louie the "Hotdog King" is holding an All-American Hot Dog Eating Contest. The kiddies will have a children's activites area, too.

Its funny how we have starving people on the streets all over this country yet we still waste food on "eating contests"...
The fireworks were fabulous last night in Peacock Park. A great first effort for the Grove. Terrific to see Marc Sarnoff there.
This was one of the most spectacular fireworks display I have ever seen and it is the talk of the Grove. It was a huge success and we we look forward to an even greater event next year - hopefully without rain.
