Winton was another Miami embarassment. Good riddance.
Whenever you get stuck in traffic or whenever you hear another story of a luxury high rise with 40% of its units in default you can thank Johnny Winton and Manny "I love concrete" Diaz. When you see your property taxes increase and your commercial rent increase you can thank Johnny and Manny.
It is so nice to have the black cloud of a possible Johnny Winton reinstatement lifted off our heads. The sun has broken through the clouds once again.
Sarnoff is like a breath of fresh air. But, I am waiting and watching. The Grove needs help. Downtown is a disaster. The lack of progress on the waterfront is reprehensible. Not Marc's fault, mind you, but he needs to push this agenda in an atmosphere of corruption and third world thinking. Timoney and Diaz need to go. They both are living in denial.
The Guv did the right thing; maybe finally our politicians are getting it.
Good news for Winton. He can now rush down to Monty's to get drunk with Murray Marcus and Allen Fisher. And Jorge Perez will pick up the tab.
I'm beginning to like this Crist fellow. If he'd only remove that "R" from in front of his name, I might actually vote for him sometime.

Winton rightly rejected
Former Miami Commissioner Johnny Winton needs to look at his ''unexpected'' fate differently. If he hadn't made that plea deal, he might have had to serve time and/or pay a fine and be branded a felon for life, losing his voting rights and his commission job.
This way, he only loses his job and, of course, the pension and benefits. His friend, Mayor Manny Diaz, has different memories of the commissioner from many of us on the Upper East Side. We say: ``Thank you, Gov. Crist.''
