Home Depot told to cease and desist today
at this site.
If you see any further construction, please report it to Code Violations at 305-416-2099 immediately. A full report will be available Monday.
They have had illegal signage, illegal trailers, illegal fencing, construction starting before it is allowed during the day and on weekends, and last week they put up scaffolding around a U.S. mailbox preventing access to it by the public and mail collectors. This is a federal violation.
I could just imagine all the laws they are breaking at all of their current locations. They just don't care.

Home Depot is so obnoxious. They think laws do not apply to them. Look how they maintain the SW 8th Street store and parking lot? They are pigs.
Write all the Commissioners. Tell them to deny Home Depot on the SW 37th Avenue site. They are pigs and a warehouse store does not belong on that location.
Please note this is not SW 37th Ave but rather SW 32nd Ave. The exact address is 2999 SW 32 Ave.
Obviously, the fact that commissioners and the Zoning Dept are not doing much except reacting to one violation after another should be grounds to vote against each and everyone of them.
We are a nation of laws. Home Depot and its armies of unlicensed contractors and attorneys are endeavoring to break every one. From trying to operate illegally to cutting down 50 year old trees without permits to terrorizing neighborhoods Home Depot cannot be trusted. (Too bad we cannot shoot offenders at dawn.)
Needless to say, Home Depot does not belong on that Coconut Grove site.
I am a neighbor of the Home Depot on SW 8th Street. We are not organized the way you are in the Grove but your fight has brought attention to our plight and for that we thank you. The latest thing Home Depot is doing is to bring debris (trash) from their lot that is left in carts and around the perimeter of their property to the front of our homes for the City trash to pick up. I am not making this up. Who do these people think they are?
Last poster, you need to contact code now, b/c that is illegal dumping by a comm. business. Just as the city will not remove landscaping material from contractors, they should not allow HD to do that to you guys. Please call code or the Net office (via 311).
I wish you the best,
Bill Anderson
Thanks for that and I did recieve an email about the 311 thing from another person as well. The problem is that the Little Havana NET is useless. The only relief we get is through Commissioner Regalado.
WHY IS HOME DEPOT EXCAVATING THE PARKING LOT TODAY?????
About 311, you still need to call 311, b/c your call will get a #, and if you follow up, you can prove you took action, and then it's the city's fault. Also, 311, will call the Code Office for you and not just your local NET.
I wish you the best,
Bill Anderson
Is this true that HD was talk to cease and desist? I have not seen that mentioned anyplace else besides this blog. They were hard at work this morning digging up the parking lot when I left my home at 7:30 am.
No.
