Grove Isle spa critique

Tere from the Coral Gables blog was not too thrilled with her Grove Isle spa experience. Looks like Grove Isle could use some help in the customer service department. I almost booked a gift spa treatment there for someone, now I am having second thoughts.

With a name like Spa Terre, you would think they would give another Tere better service. You can read all about it

Best spa Ive been to is at The Standard on Miami Beach. Good value. The restaurant there isnt bad either. Nothing too special, but a decent menu. Steak frites are money.

as a customer who sometimes buys spa packages for my signif other, i was intrigued. so i sent the link of tere's post to the grove isle spa to see how they would respond. so far, i got an automated response with a promise to respond more in three days. still waiting.
boosting prices WHILE you're getting a service seems a bit over the top in the greed department, to me.
the standard hotel's spa certainly looks nice. ive been there and the whole property is cool.

Hey, I know spa services are pricey by nature (although I've gotten some great service at moderate prices in other places), but I really felt ripped off. There was no excuse for not telling us about the price increase, even if it was right before they rang us up.

The actual services were fine - my feet look fine and my face looked rosy and my relatives enjoyed their massages - but there was nothing special or attentive about the service.

Bottom line, prices not worth what you get. I would suggest you get the gift certificate for another place.

standard hotel on venetian causeway is expensive, but i really enjoyed the facial i got there and the hammam is pretty cool. make sure to have the valet park your car right next to the hotel though or you will wait 20 min. for your car when you leave.
