yes, they blocked it off to have a crane there 24/7 so they could get that condo up asap. I guess the future residents complained about the slow progress as they were getting antsy and couldn't wait to move in and look out over the gas station, convenience store, and big daddy's parking lot. Oh, and the traffic lights and traffic too!! There's one light on in the Oppenheim building across the street that was completed 6 months ago, how many lights will we see in this one???
Actually, that new 27 Loft building looks nice. I checked out their website at South27Lofts.com. That corner will benefit from the sleek design, as opposed to the duplexes that it replaced.
Although the little duplexes were quaint, they were not well maintained. None of the duplexes on 27th Ave are well maintained.
The prices on South27Lofts are ridiculous. The developer does realize that this is the corner of 2 busy streets and surrounded by nothing but concrete, right? That and the "sleek design" is totally out of place I think. Its too modern for the Grove. At least it will make the brick building across the street look a little more normal...
