Tree huggers defeat Home Depot

Those pompous jerks at Home Depot were all prepared to take out a bunch of trees at the Grove Gate location, even though they still don't know the final outcome of the appeals being thrown at them. Talk about nerve.

But the permit to remove any trees has been revoked by Miami's Historic and Environmental Preservation board. The motion passed unanimously.

"Why would anyone remove 90 some-odd trees before they even know if they will be allowed to build what they want to remove the trees for?" asked resident Ron Nelson.

Because, Ron, Home Depot is a big obnoxious orange bully.

Thanks also go to the Tree-Man Trust and the Tree-Watch committee of the Village Council for filing an appeal against Home Depot and keeping on top of the issue.

So I take my wife out for lunch today at Jaguar. A loud mouth was shouting business on his cell phone. I gave him the look. He says "Is there a problem?" I said "Yes there is, you are screaming into your cell phone." He proceeds to call ME an asshole, (twice) so that everyone could hear within 50 feet, then he opens the door into my chair and wants to pick a fight. The guy was in his 40's or so. To top it off, he had his low end foreign car illegally parked right in front of the restaurant. Will someone please explain to me the fixation that hispanics have with their cell phones? While you are explaining that, perhaps you could explain why they, by and large, are so rude. You know, Coconut Grove used to be one hell of a place, until they took over.
