FPL sucks

This lack of electricity is really getting out of hand. FPL should be required by law to have underground wires if they want to gouge people for electricity on a daily basis in the state of Florida. Every time a heavy wind blows through, we are in the dark. This is crap. FPL should take some of their mega profits and put proper lines into old neighborhoods.

You want to know what's really happening? Well, talk to your leaders. You know, the ones who you vote for come election day but are never around otherwise. They are the ones responsible for making things happen as far as the underground cables. Each individual municipality has to do with their budget what they need to do in order to better serve their citizens. Tell your leaders to quit spending the money on hookers and cars and put out a plan of action so that when the wind blows, you don't get left in the dark. Get educated and maybe you will know who is really responsible instead of blaming FPL all the time.

It's a given that our elected leaders are only in public office because they are incapable of holding down any type of productive job in our society. If they had to actually "interview" for the positions they hold, and provide background information as to why they feel they are qualified, most of them would be standing in an unemployment line somewhere. Instead they are enjoying all of the privilege we have bestowed upon them, and more than a few of them think that means having Carte Blanche with taxpayers money for Hookers, Cars, Shady Business Ventures (not the kind with a big tree in the front yard! Not that kind of "shady"!) among other things. And I also believe that most of them feel that they are somehow "above the law".

That being said, my opinion of FPL is even lower! Their policies, billing practices, and rates are so far out of line with other similar companies throughout the country, that they are more of a joke, than a serious corporate entity. (Due to my job, I have lived in 7 states in the last 12 years, so I have paid a few utility bills in other states.) FPL struggles with the slightest challenges, such as outages, and other weather related issues, infrastructure maintenance and repairs, and some of their billing practices border on the illegal! It wouldn't surprise me if they had a few "henchmen" on their collections staff, to come fit you for concrete shoes if you're late! Seriously, FPL has MAJOR internal issues, has no idea how to manage catastrophic breaches in their systems, and even the most rudimentary issues, that are, by FEDERAL LAW, supposed to have inherent redundancy, cause nearly half the state to be without power for most of a day! But, because they are a monopoly, they have free reign to impose whatever their obviously clueless leaders can dream up on any given day. FP&L = Failures, Perpetrators & Losers or (like most of us when the wind blows, or one guy throws the wrong switch!) Feeling PowerLess!!
