What's old is new again at Coconut Village

We talked about Maya Hatcha yesterday, what we didn't mention was the site. It's now called Coconut Village, at 2982 Grand Avenue; the former Sephora space which has been other things over the years, including the yearly Halloween shop.

The Comras Company is renting the space out now to various businesses who will share the one space. It's quite large. It's between FedEx and 24 Hour Fitness.

Spaces inside are from 200 to 650 retail square feet. Along with Catch A Wave and Maya Hatcha, Kreative Gardens and Kcull will be coming to the space. There are many other open spaces.

We're not doing this to promote the Comras Company, in fact, we're not thrilled that they control so much of the Grove, but it's nice that small businesses will have a place in the Grove. The rent is not cheap, but it's better than a lot of what's out there.

There's talk of a mural covering the whole face of the building, which seems like it will cheapen the clean white front, but maybe not, we'll have to see what it is.
