The unhappy boulder

So as the Grove continues it's unsettling decline from being a little village, I find out that we won't have a Christmas tree this year. With that and no King Mango Strut and of course the non-stop barrage on Halloween, it's like we don't have any fun around here anymore.

As you may remember for many years we had the Christmas tree in front of CocoWalk and then it moved to Florentine Plaza. This year they are suggesting City Hall, but I think there is already a tree decorated at City Hall and that is not the center of town and means nothing to Coconut Grove.

But we do have something now in the center of town - a boulder. Have you seen it?

There is a giant boulder in front of the former Johnny Rockets. It was dragged there under a vehicle from some sort of construction area last week, sort of like a nail in your tire, but worse, and it ended up at Johnny Rockets.

Someone painted a face on it, but I have a better solution. Let's totally paint it! Let's have someone paint it as a jack-o-lantern for October, a turkey for November and possibly Santa for December. That would be a draw for the Center Grove during the holiday season.

Someone can go out in the middle of the night and make it a pumpkin this week perhaps.
