Stop by for a hot towel shave and a game of pool
When you hear the words, "Men's Barbershop," you probably think "expensive." Let's change that. There's a new place in the Grove for men to get their hair cut. You can also get your beard trimmed and get a hot towel shave, all at reasonable prices. Oh, and they also do kids' haircuts, too.
Mustache Barbershop, an "authentic barber shop," has an old fashioned feel as you enter.
The first thing you'll notice as you enter, aside from the barber pole, is a pool table, which makes you feel quite welcome. You can play a game while you wait for your haircut and perhaps have a beer on them.
Co-founders Alvaro Puche and Andres Felipe Piedrahita opened their first shop in Doral, it is so successful that they opened their next shop in the Grove. Alvaro told me that the Doral location started slow. He saw a need and opened the shop, little by little it grew and they have 14 barbers now. That's his plan for the Grove.
They prefer appointments, by calling 305-456-6738, but walk-ins are welcome.
Mustache Barbershop is tucked away at 3333 Rice Street, open Monday thru Friday from 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 7 pm and Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm.

I've paid $10.00 for a good haircut at the same location, Bernnies on Bird Road for about 30 years, the owner tired standing, so he retired. I found a new shop down Old Cutler for $15.00. A lot of friendliness & joking going on. Of course, if these reasonable prices were posted the shop would fill up fast time.
Anonymous - Why would you advertise other non Grove businesses when this article is all about a new business. Get your spoon out of his Cheerios. Sounds like a great twist of playing a game of pool while waiting instead of looking down at your phone the whole time. Will definitely check it out.
There is also the standard "It's so expensive" post whenever the Grapevine writes about a new place opening.
Can't wait to try it out!!
Over on Coral Way, next to Winn Dixie, just West of 32'D Ave., the shop wanted $35.00, and they give a free whiskey. Here's a game of pool. I don't do whiskey's, play pool, stare at my phone much less go around looking down at my phone and have never been to a whore house. If I go to a barber it's to get a G - d D - - h hair cut. Oh, get your spoon & that Q-stick out of your friends Cheerios.
History is very soon forgotten. Beers were more or less a dollar about 10/15 years ago. Now a BUD is 5 and the server expects 2 dollars. Say what, a slice of cheese cake 10/15 $'s. A barber on Grand was $10.00, now starting @ $25.00, super cuts forty, Seminole boat ramp from 6 to 12. Good news I paid $50,000.00 for my home and was offered $800,000.00 this year. Isn't it great to be in America, hold the BUD, cheese cake & barber, in come the rich, out go the sensible and who's going to pay these high commercial rents - a barber shop with one pool table instead of people looking down at their feet or cells phones.
Lower the rates, run em through with cattle prods, good cut, move em in, move em out the old fashion way or pay through the nose
A funny twisted world we live in. People line up overnight to pay for a gadget or phone that costs $1200 and then $100 a month to connect but on their body they want to be frugal. This is a new sad world advertising, marketing and encouraging consumers to beat down small business and moms and pops for a penny but never think about smacking down the hundreds and going into debt to buy something from billionaires. Destruction of the middle class is real and we are still worried about socialism and communism as our enemy.
