The dock at Peacock Park

The little boardwalk at Peacock Park is still in bad shape due to Hurricane Irma, a year ago.

Steven Williamson, Director of Capital Improvements says, "Please rest assured the City has not ignored this project. The Hurricane Irma repair projects have been especially difficult. The Office of Capital Improvements has been working diligently with FEMA for the appropriate reimbursement process. Now that we have worked through that, we are ready to move forward."

The design for the replacement of the deck is 100% complete. Currently, the project is under the bidding phase with a bid close date of September 27, 2018. Once the contractor is selected and all conditions are met, they expect to begin construction in October.

Another concern by boaters are the docks at Dinner Key. More info to come on them.

Years ago a coworker of mine drowned near this spot trying to save his young son as their boat got away from them while diving. When his partner died her family asked that we scatter some of her ashes from this dock as a memorial. We miss being able to pay tribute to them since the dock has been closed.

Sincerely, with all the development:say 750 MacMansions, and how many condos, guess about 2,000. My taxes are about $5,000.00 annually compared to what, say $10,000.00, per unit, per MacMansion each side = $20,000.00, annually. Condo's just across US # 1 on 27th Avenue, how many, say 1500 units? We're talking millions and millions of dollars coming in from 33133. Miami CITY Hall is literally blocks away from this great park! Trailer axels are broken @ Seminole Boat Ramp due to bricks that were placed, what 20 years ago, have been broken for years and have dissinagrated leaving holes several feet deep. Our marinas and docks are one of the largest in North America and Miami is waiting for FEMA. Confiscate the boats that were inadequately secured, sell them and use the money to help pay damages. Coconut Grove, our Village is a gateway into Beautiful Biscayne Bay for fishing, diving, and boating to several sand bar beaches and some of the worlds most beautiful national parks on the water anywhere in the world. The board ramp, this pier and the Playhouse do not represent major damage, yet hinders pleasurable activities and the concept of beauty downtown Coconut Grove next to Miami City Hall as if we were jerk water U.S.A... Have you found out why the city is deadlocked on fixing the bathrooms in the parks, save for Regatta Park?

Miami is a bathroom. The city has been taking a dump on Miami for decades and the current national political climate is masking the stink locally.
