Saturday is Gallery Night in Coconut Grove
From 7 to 10 pm, enjoy art, drinks and nibblie things and meet Aimee, who works mostly in clay, surfaced with oxide washes, slips, engobes and glazes. She adds encaustic, wax, metals, glass and found objects in order to add layers to her work. I would say it's almost Steampunk, but it's not.
She explores contemporary themes, as well as religious, biblical and worldly ones. The work is fun and unusual.
The Gallery is located at the Mayfair Atrium, where the bull sculpture is - 3390 Mary Street, suite 128.
FrameWorks' Williams McCall Gallery is featuring Alex Katz, Lee Brock, Ernie Bynum, Debbie Carfagno, Eliot Hess and Lisa Remeny as part of Saturday's Gallery Walk Night. Stop by from 6 to 9 pm for art, friends and refreshments.
FrameWorks is at 3196 Commodore Plaza
The Sonesta Hotel is having a champagne reception featuring the Blooming Collection, which will debut some new pieces. Their reception is from 7 to 10 pm.
