City approves garage plans at The Harbour
"As part of The Harbour, a mixed-use development planned for the Coconut Grove waterfront, the Miami Parking Authority recently received approval from the city of Miami Planning and Zoning Appeals Board to build and operate what will be known as the Grove Bay Parking Garage. Scheduled to open in 2017, the three-level parking garage will feature over 330 parking spaces with retail establishments on the ground floor. The garage will be located off Pan American Drive and South Bayshore Drive. Construction is expected begin later in the year."
I recently heard a rumor that Terra, which owns the Oak Street Garage now, was going to add three floors to the top of the garage to be made into offices. Perhaps this three story garage at Pan American Drive is what people were getting mixed up about. Time will tell.

A bit of irony. Fake trees on the side of the building. Really! I guess the Grove will take trees anyway they can.
The extra 3 stories of office space above the oak garage would be nice. perhaps if they include 1 extra floor of parking to support it. There isn't an abundance of office space available in the grove, and this could drive more people to setup offices within walking distance of their homes.
Looks like a missed opportunity to design a building that would become an icon like 1111 Lincoln Road that attracts people just to come to see the building. Also, let's hope their agents do a better job leasing up the retail space than they did at the Oak Street garage and ideally to unique local tenants rather than the lame national tenants like the Cold Stone shown on the facade...sorry for not being able to find the positive with this limited elevation that the MPA has shared with us (miamiparking.com). The zero public participation or solicited input in this project is not OK and should not be allowed to continue. This is a public garage being built on public land with the public's tax dollars. Just sayin...
You must have missed the public input on this one. Thanks Charles Corda for the time you spent controlling the "bait and switch" the developers tried to pull on this one.
This looks like a 4 story Building to me.. It is supposed to be 3 stories total NOT 3 parking levels over retail
