TedxCoconutGrove looking for speakers
The next TedxCoconut Grove event is on March 17, 2017, almost a year away, but the group is now accepting applications for the event which is themed "Escape."
Applications will be accepted until June 16, 2016.
They are looking for ideas that are innovative and original and are "worth spreading."
From the TedxCoconutGrove website: "If you are chosen to speak at TEDxCoconutGrove, preparation for your talk will be a significant commitment. Chosen speakers will address a select audience from South Florida, and their talks will be accessible online and may even end up on TED.com where most talks are viewed at least 100,000 times, and some have several million views. Take a minute; think about that."
TEDx is a program of local events that bring people together. The local event is called TEDxCoconutGrove, where x = independently organized TED event. TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark discussion and connection in a small group.

it seems that the speakers are doing the research for the city, instead of coming up with new ideas and doing the work. irene
