Perfect weekend weather for the arts festivals

You couldn't order up more perfect weather for this weekend's Coconut Grove Arts Festival and St. Stephen's Art Show. It's been so beautiful out and the crowds seem to be larger than in previous years. Saturday had a huge crowd.

The usual art, food and fun is in Center Grove, there is something for everyone, even if you're not into the art, you'll love it if you're a people watcher.
Gigi Levya and Siri Lek Cerber visited at the Atchana's East/West booth outside the Mutiny Hotel.
Right outside the Mutiny's front door was a little jazz band from the New World School of the Arts. Excellent.
Our friend Larry Shane was showing, and selling, his classic Miami photographer. Larry specializes in locals that are now gone from our world like images of the Orange Bowl, Tobacco Road or Fox's Sherrin Inn or Miami Marine Stadium, which hopefully will come back soon.

We ate a lot, didn't drink that much, and enjoyed one of our favorites - English Tea and scones with clotted cream at the English Tea Room at St. Stephen's.
Hope you can make it out Sunday and/or Monday. It's a once in a year event that really takes over Coconut Grove and shows off the village at it's best. Both shows run from 10 am to 6 pm.

What is the point of reading this blog or even posting if it is going to be one sided? Not everyone shares your rosey opinion of the Coconut Grove Arts Festival Tom.

I read the Grape daily and I've never seen the Author indicate, ever, that comments have to align with "Tom's rosy opinion(s)".
For example your comment made it! Freedom to express yourself is the main theme of the Grape, just don't insult or be rude, that's all. My wife has to drive to Key Biscayne, past the Grove Art Show and the Boat Show, cops everywhere not allowing folks to go this way or that way, she gripes and I smile and respond it's great to be in the Grove, what a beautiful day, lets get a 6-pack and watch folks stroll by with their baby carriages and dogs, she smiles, I go get the 6-pack, and we both continue to enjoy all the Grove has to offer. To Anon 11:44: Can't we just enjoy ourselves once in a while? Why does every post have to have a comments section like that feels like people have been sucking on a sour lemon? It's a beautiful weekend. Like the famous line from the movie Stripes, "Lighten Up Francis".

I went, we had a fine time, but I do think that the layout still needs some work... I know it's tough to design a way to move that many people through, but there were so many bottleneck spots throughout, and I just felt like I was in a mosh pit at times.
