We tried out Masa Taqueria the other day

We tried out Masa Taqueria over the weekend. On Saturday for a couple of hours, they opened their doors to serve samples. It was more than samples, it was whole orders. Free!
Masa is not open yet, but they will be in a week or so. But those who tried the tacos, guacamole and other items loved them. Masa is dough made from corn flour and used to make tortillas, tamales, etc., hence the name. And as you can see, they make everything from scratch, fresh, on the spot daily.
The former Johnny Rockets location (3036 Grand Avenue) has been transformed, there's a lot of wood and some corrugated metal.  The space has been opened up and seems much larger, there are tables inside and lots of room; eventually tables will be added outside. Robert is the owner, James is the manager.

It's nice to see life on that corner again. Looking out the window to Harry's Pizzeria across the street, brimming with people, is a great thing to see.

We'll keep you informed about Masa Taqueria's opening as soon as we know it.

Looks great! But hope they don't do outdoor tables---makes it tricky to negotiate the corner when strolling. Bars (high or low) along each side with stools would be practical, thoughtful and cool looking, though.

Should do well if everything is fresh as it appears in the pics, looks good, great corner & lots of traffic. It's a great idea, efficient, to produce a food product you can hold in your hand as this appears. They should place two colorful trash receptors at each end of their outside building lines so folks can purchase, eat slowly and dump the remains. The rest room should be refined to allow folks a place to quickly wash their hands before eating. This could be a great money maker and a plus for the Center Grove, good luck. Jobie Steppe

I don't know if you guys have been here yet, but you all have to come grab a bite to eat here. You have to get the Tortas: carne asada.
They have one of the best chefs I've had the pleaser of meeting and trying the food he makes. You can taste it in the products and quality that they do everything with love and its fresh.
You have to come when chef Pablo is here. He will cook you something that will leave you dreaming about it.
I give this place 5 stars.
