Ken Russell sworn in as new Dist. 2 Commissioner

Our new District 2 Commissioner, Ken Russell was sworn in at City Hall on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. His whole family was in attendance. Here City Clerk Todd Hannon swears Ken into office. There was an introduction by Evan Fancher, Aide to County Commissioner Xavier Suarez. Presentation of the Colors was presented by the City of Miami Police Color Guard and the National Anthem was played by saxophonist Pablo Landi. People seem genuinely pleased with Ken, Ken promised lots of changes. He said there are lots of unbalances, lots of traffic, and that people are unable to afford living in Miami; he discussed the homeless situation in Village West. He said we no longer need  to feel intimidated and unable to share ideas, THIS ENDS TODAY; this was a very powerful statement.

Ken addressed the hall after an Invocation by Apostle John H. Chambers, President of the Coconut Grove Ministerial Alliance, and a Keynote Speech by Honorable Mayor Maurice Ferre.
As Chairman of the Coconut Grove BID, he will work with small business owners, and also downtown redevelopment.
