Grove memories

Do you remember these places? Only the Tavern and the Mutiny are still here and if you look close at the Mayfair garage in the promenade, you can still see the Ensign Bitters tiled sign.

Where exactly is the Ensign Bitters sign and do you have a pic?

I love these historically themed posts, thanks!

I think it's near the MCM Academy. Here is a photo: http://coconutgrovegrapevine.blogspot.com/2014/08/history-is-still-all-around-us.html

Remember the Candle Light Inn on Commodore Plaza! And of course the original Taurus with music and the best hamburgers in town!

So sad all the nightlife was taken away from the grove .

No place to hang out and have a drink without spending a fortune. Sad indeed. Taurus for Friday HH and even lunch with coworkers from water and Sewer. My mom went there when it was La Casita. And I do remember the Candlelight Inn and all the other places previously mentioned. Of course Biscayne Babies in the 80s. Yes I am a hippie stuck in the past. Lol. I like it here

It is sad that the grove got turned into the gap, and is fairing about as well.

Homogenized and packaged to not contain any strong odors or flavors - welcome to U-taupe-ia.

Come to the grove, we've got all the flavor of dinner at an old folks home!

How about the old Tigertail Lounge with that nasty shag carpet.

What about some of my old favorite hangouts... Honey for the Bears, The Jamestown and the Village Inn?
