Teresa Sarnoff in the running for commish seat

All the rumors were true, Teresa Sarnoff has filed to run for District 2 Commissioner. Her husband, of course is current Commissioner March Sarnoff.

That brings the total to four who are now running in the November election.

Others running are activist Grace Solares who announced her run in November and Grovite Mike Simpson who announced his run in December and Rosa Maria Polamino, who filed in January.

Teresa was quoted as saying that she wants to improve "quality of life" in our district.

  1. Ms. Sarnoff would you please comment publicly why you feel you are qualified for public office?

And how do you feel about nepotism?

How do you define "quality of life" for a city?

    Thank you.

  2. Marc Sarnoff is the biggest cheerleader for sleazy illegal billboards. Sarnoff claims to love the illegal LED billboards. (Loves their money in his pocket?). Billboards by definition destroy quality of life. Sarnoff's idol Manny Diaz is on the payroll of billboard giant CBS. Hmm. Teresa getting bankrolled by billboard lobbyists?

    1. Thanks for the list on Solares.
She opposes everything! I would never vote for her!
I already lived my past, only looking to the future!

  4. If she wants to improve quality of life in the Grove, then perhaps the Sarnoffs should move to another state.

  6. We need change, so new leeches can leech off the City's infamous RFP's.

  7. Does anyone know or frequently meet with or communicate with Mr. or Mrs. Sarnoff? Didn't think so! Such rants are said to be "IGNORANT".

  8. Nepotism rules Miami. Let's drink to that.

  9. this is a way for the couple to keep city employees as private servants and have two huge pensions for life paid by city taxpayers

  10. I am not for or against Ms. Sarnoff as commissioner.

But, I noticed a lot of negative comments. You folks can use that energy for effectively.

Instead of badmouthing a person, let's hear your constructive ideas on making this city better.

(Nepotism usually means giving a job to a family member, so that meaning would not apply.)

  11. Let’s just suppose you’re not feeling too well and decide to consult with a doctor to help diagnose the problem and prescribe a solution to help you regain your good health.
    A. Would you consult with a specialist?
    B. Would you consult with the wife of a modestly successful specialist?
    C. Would you consult with a radio commentator or someone with experience in retail and hospitality?

    You're such a boor.

  14. Just to clarify, "nepotism" is when you're appointed to a government position or job by a relative, not when you're elected.

  15. Nepotism is a common accusation in politics when the relative of a powerful figure ascends to similar power seemingly without appropriate qualifications. Teresa is related through marriage and blatantly unqualified for any government office weather appointed or elected. It is shameful, humiliating and a betrayal of trust to think that any elected leader would be so greedy to hold power, so arrogant to think deserving and so miscalculating of our citizens concerns, to even suggest that their spouse should inherit their political office.

  16. Would someone please respond and list all the reasons why this lady is highly qualified to hold the office she seeks and more importantly why she would never sell out the grove residents in the same manner as we have already so painfully experienced . Why should I cast my vote for her?I voted for her husband and felt betrayed in a very short time. Voting for Marc Sarnoff is the only vote I have ever regretted.

  17. @4:20

The democratic process as evil? I guess it was way past your bed time when you posted that.

  18. We live in a district that has over 41,000 registered voters. In the 2011 District 2 race for commissioner a total of 4,667 voted of which the incumbent commissioner won with 2,456. This lack of engagement fosters our political environment, where only a few voices engage in the discourse of the dialogue and determine its outcome. Ten percent of the electorate grant the special interests on both sides the power to define the vision and purpose of our dynamic district. With the engagement of more constituents, diverse ideas flow and measures are implemented based on our collective interests.
