Clyde Butcher shows off his new gallery

Clyde Butcher, the Southwest Florida photographer and author known for his wilderness photography of the Florida landscape, was host to the soft opening of the Clyde Butcher Gallery on Tuesday night. The new gallery is located at 2994 McFarlane Road. Above, Coconut Grove artist Erika King admires the powerful black and white photographs.
The gallery was full of friends and admirers and it spilled out around the block to the Lasso the Moon space where people could get autographs and speak to Mr. Butcher. Cynthia Seaman of Lasso the Moon along with Amy Anderson and her pr agency, put the event together including the food and drinks and they did all the marketing and coordinating of the very successful evening which was very well attended.

The highly anticipated gallery opening adds a much needed gallery to Coconut Grove. The turnout proved that.
The Arquitectonica-designed gallery, with its high ceilings, will accommodate large pieces as well as small close-up photos.  Arquitectonica, principal of Main Highway Partners, is the company redeveloping the Engle building in the center of town. Panther Coffee and Harry's Pizzeria will soon be neighbors to the gallery.

I'm so excited to read about the Clyde Butcher Gallery opening. I will definitely stop by next time I'm up from the Keys. I absolutely love his work...and fishing in the Everglades.
