Thousands attend Coconut Grove Seafood Festival

It was some heck of a weekend in Coconut Grove. The weather was perfect, but even better than that were two big festivals which drew thousands of people back to back - Saturday and Sunday. Saturday was the Grovetoberfest beer festival and Sunday was the Coconut Grove Seafood Festival, both in Peacock Park.

This Seafood Festival was one event where the prices were kept in line. We had these blue crabs (three per serving) for just $10 per serving. Incredible and delicious. The SapientNitro group had their own tent with tables and thanks to Gabriel Mendoza, we were welcomed to sit there and eat and drink.

There were some tents like at the VIP area, where there were non-stop lines for food, liquor, desserts and cigars. You could purchase an upgraded ticket for that.

People were lined up down the block, just like with Grovetoberfest the day before. I think we need to hire Tony Albelo, who heads these two events, to run all the Grove events. He really knows how to bring the crowds out and he always has beautiful weather, too.

I wasn't in town or otherwise I would have gone to this. I love this use for the park, these types of events (I'm sure are a pain to organize) always bring in tons of happy crowds.
