CocoWalk's Howl-O-Ween

Coconut Grove is the place to be on Halloween night; as always, a large crowd decends on Center Grove, right in the middle of town. Coconut Grove Halloween 2014, will be no different.

At CocoWalk, they have a little more organized event - the legendary Howl-O-Ween. Daylight on Howl-O-Ween Friday will begin with trick or treating children who will gather sweets from CocoWalk's storefronts. Clowns, magicians, a face painter and much more will line the property to entertain, while shoppers and restaurant guests watch as little princesses and goblins roam the CocoWalk strip. The Miami Marlins will be on site doing fun activities with the kid’s and Adrienne Arsht Center will be giving away Broadway tickets to Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella and Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. The Kid’s Howl-O-Ween Festivities will take place from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm and don’t forget about the Kid’s Costume Contest at 4:30 pm.

While night begins to set on Coconut Grove, CocoWalk’s courtyard draws as many as 40,000 partygoers prepared for an amusing night filled with entertainment including a live DJ, costume parties, great food and people watching. With exciting events throughout the night, visitors will stay well past the stroke of midnight to experience CocoWalk’s Howl-O-Ween Extraordinaire unlike any other. The Adult Festivities will take place from 7:00 pm until 3:00 am and the Adult Costume Contest will begin at 9:30 pm.

Last few years I've seen noticeably fewer and fewer people each Halloween (even disregarding the fact it was on a weekday so many of the recent years). I live in center grove, and am considering going to Lincoln Road.

Halloween in the grove used to be huge. Now, it's barely on the radar. Quite the canary in the mine.
