Tigertail is open . . . partially
You can also take Tigertail to that intersection and make a right turn (no left) onto SW 27th Avenue and go toward South Bayshore Drive. The whole traffic circle is supposed to be completed in December. These two photos are taken from Tigertail and SW 27th Avenue, facing northwest.

Excellent progress, finally.. It's still a freaking adventure to navigate the entire area, say from Monty's to Central Grove, back around Tiger Tail. Especially at night, on foot or bike.
Looking at it, I am confused. How is this going to be a traffic circle? It looks like it will completely block traffic from going straight from Tigertail to Oak--they will be forced to go north or south on 27th. As a North Grove resident living off Tigertail, I think this is fantastic. It cuts off a lot of the commuting cut-through traffic looking to bypass Bayshore and US-1. But if my commute involved going to the South Grove, I would probably be annoyed I lost another alternate to US-1.
Either way, I think it's a great project that is making 27th into a road the grove can be proud of.
It's a traffic amoeba.

I love the new look and flow of Unity. A huge improvement to the old layout.
We're moving forward and it takes time, money, coordination & patience. Coconut Grove is making a transformation into a WORLD CLASS DESTINATION. I-95 from Canada directly into Coconut Grove, Florida, Dinner Key Marine, S. Beach a few minutes away. Biscayne Bay & the Bahamas to the East, the Florida Keys to the South, Government Cut is being dredged for mega cargo vessels, the billion dollar tunnel into the Port of Miami, Miami International Airport recently renovated, Metro Rail, etc., etc., etc.. Get ready Grove, the money is about to flow! JOBIE STEPPE
