Scheming to take over Brickell Avenue

So the City of Miami doesn't have enough money problems, they are now in the process of taking over Brickell Avenue from the state (Herald story here). The City feels it can control traffic better. I bet they can also go ahead with ridding the avenue of those pesky old trees that have been throwing so much shade on the street.

Speaking of shade, I love what Senator Gwen Margolis said, regarding Commissioner Marc Sarnoff: “It’s one commissioner who wants to take control of everything. The street is fine, there’s nothing lacking. There’s no way to slow down traffic on Brickell.”

A friend put it this way: "Bet it won’t be too long before Miami controlled Brickell gets renamed after some undeserving developer."

Didn't they want to change part of the name to Broadway one time, to honor the Broadway condo on 15th Road?

The plan is to put metered parking along both sides of the street as well! They need to get rid of the trees so they can accommodate metered parking.

Well, we already have a Sarnoff Circle. But that was his first term. Shouldn't we have an appropriate Sarnoff Avenue in honor of his second term?

And lets not forget the To go cars all lined up taking up the metered parking spaces. Or maybe make another garage and have residents pay monthly fees and have the money go to another unknown watering hole.

Back in the day, this kind of crap from politicians wasn't tolerated. If people really wanted change, they'd gather at his doorstep and making their voices heard.

The rumors continue to circulate that Commissioner "Ethics" is planning to run wifey to take his place. His megalomania knows no bounds. Folks better really start paying attention to what Sarnoff's up to, because he has a handful of enablers with money and a desire to become local "Masters of the Universe," by using him as their political front man.

Brickell is beautifully vibrant, modern, multi-ethnic, a banking capital & a gateway to Central & South America lined with rich folk, great restaurants and public facilities, great parks, the Miami Heat & 1st class seaport; an envy of the world that cannot be harmed by the City of Miami's involvement.

P.S. been around 71 years & City Gov. does mess things up, but you've got no clue what-so-ever, do ya!

I couldn't be more confused by that last comment. "City Gov. does mess things up.." "Name one thing...harmed by City of Miami involvement"

Split personality, head injury, or just trolling?

I'm sure you're confused, so pay attention; sure government mess things up, but you are simply attacking the Miami Government because it in vogue, but you can't come up with something/anything specific - - - - - can you? Cat got U T.
