Gala in the Garden fundraiser

Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden’s annual Gala in the Garden fundraiser will honor the garden's 75th anniversary of opening to the public. Co-chaired by Swanee DiMare and Frances Sevilla-Sacasa, the black tie fundraiser will begin with a cocktail reception where you can bid on luxury items offered in the Silent Auction. The event starts 6:30 pm on Saturday, February 1.

Then surrounded by the Lakeside Marquee's breathtaking decor, you will dine on an exquisite feast by Le Basque Catering and dance by the light of the moon. With all proceeds supporting programs in conservation science, education and horticulture, the fundraiser will keep Fairchild moving forward while staying true to the original vision of the founders –- to provide a beautiful tropical garden for all to enjoy.

Individual tickets start at $600, and tables for ten can be reserved for $6,000. To purchase tickets, call or email Susannah Shubin.

I dive by daily and the parking lot is always full and tags clearly indicate folks from across the U.S. enjoy this venue.

Many of the cars may be rentals. Visitors are asked where they are from, and there are days when there are more folks from other countries than the US, especially in wintertime.
