Antique and Collectibles Market had a great first day

antique3
The Antique Market is going full speed this weekend at the plaza at Mayfair. Inside and out, there's sure to be something you'll like. The Market opens at 10 am today and closes at sunset and opens tomorrow at 11 am tomorrow and closes at sunset.

Cindy from CocoWalk has been very generous in that she invited a couple of the antique dealers to set up a table or two in front of CocoWalk to direct people from there down to Mayfair. It seems like the whole Grove wants to help out and appreciates the Antique Market.

The guys running it, Tony and his crew, have really become part of our community. They seem to know everybody now and they fit right in. I saw a couple of them at CocoWalk yesterday afternoon and I thought they were admiring the fountain and Freddy the Flamingo, now I see that they were just staking out a space or two, taking Cindy up on her offer. They did wave to me as I walked by with a friend. They're fitting in really well.

The whole point of the Mayfair Antique Market is that it is at Mayfair. The idea is to grow it in Mayfair, so that people have a place and a focus of where to go for antiques in the Grove. Cocowalk has plenty of other events and promotions to attract people, and horning in on the Mayfair Market on the very first hours of its existence, when Mayfair is not a neighborly act.

Mayfair actually approached Cindy. Mayfair donated the space and is not making money on this. It's there as a community event.
