Have breakfast and meet an established artist at the same time

art
Here's a new first for the Grove -- "Breakfast with the Artists" -- a new series starting Tuesday, December 2 at Focaccia Rustica (3111 Grand Avenue).

The first artist up is Betty Ann Pober, shown here, left, hanging her art with AnnaMaria Windisch-Hunt (who actually looks like Wilma Flintstone in this photo).

Betty Ann is the first artist in the series. Basically you just have breakfast at Focaccia and an established artist from our area is on hand to discuss their work. It's informal and not a lecture. The artist is just there to meet if you wish to. Betty Ann is very easy to speak with, she's very sweet and low key and will remind you of a good friend.

The art is for sale, probably for a three week period, when a new artist's work will take over. Betty Ann's work is there now.

The works are small pieces at reasonable prices. Actually a great idea for one-of-a-kind holiday gifts.

Betty Ann's work consists of whimsical sayings mostly on women's issues, like love and dating and family. That's something unusual that would make a great gift.

Betty Ann will be there at 8 am, December 2. Other artists in the series are Jeffrey Passage, Hans Feyerabend, AnnaMaria and more. The art is hanging there all the time, so you may go by and enjoy it at any time.

I saw the work last night, pretty interesting "art diary" series. I was trying to figure out the background, some computer generated characters perhaps. By the way the lamb chops and Churascos at Foccacia were delicious and beautifully prepared, I give the lamb chops a five star.
